When are the changes happening?
When are the changes happening?
The changes happen from the 26th of February, so all new customers you accept after that date will automatically be on rolling weekly plans and paid at your new price band.
How will Weekly Rolling Plans work?
How will Weekly Rolling Plans work?
All new parents will only be able to buy weekly rolling plans for either one or two lessons per week at your new price band from 26th February. They will also be able to book regular lessons that repeat at the same time and day each week (we call these recurring lessons on the old platform).
Regular lessons will be the default option when parents book lessons, but lessons can also be booked individually, as one-offs.
What’s the difference between Weekly Rolling Plans and Regular Lessons?
What’s the difference between Weekly Rolling Plans and Regular Lessons?
Weekly rolling plans are the new tutoring agreement between you and parents. The parent pays weekly for a set number of lessons (either 1 or 2). The parent can then book those lessons in; as one-off lessons, or regular lessons. Regular lessons repeat each week at the same time on the same day.
Will my pay on the old platform change?
Will my pay on the old platform change?
No, we’re not changing pay on the old platform. We review pricing and pay on the old platform once per year, and that happens over the summer.

Which price band will I be on and can I change it?
Which price band will I be on and can I change it?
You’ll start on the same price band that you are on the old MyTutor private platform. You’re free to change this straight away though, and it won’t affect any of your existing tutoring contracts. The new plans and price bands will launch on the 26th of February - look out for our announcement email for confirmation.
Why am I being assigned to a price band? And can I change it?
Why am I being assigned to a price band? And can I change it?
You’re free to change your price band at any time. We’re assigning you an initial price band because when we move from 3 to 5, the system needs to know which band to put you on. Once we release the changes, you’ll be free to update your price band whenever you like.
We thought your existing price band was a safe bet for starters.
Will I still be paid on the same dates?
Will I still be paid on the same dates?
Yes, your pay dates won’t change. You’ll still see your pay automatically transferred into your Stripe account within 24 hours of each lesson being completed, and you’ll still be paid every 2 weeks on Tuesday.
Do I need to cancel and rebook my existing lessons?
Do I need to cancel and rebook my existing lessons?
No, you don’t need to cancel and rebook any existing tutoring plans or lessons. Existing customers will remain on their plans at the same price, and this will continue as and when they auto-renew. If you do want to move your existing customers onto your new prices, they’ll need to take out a new weekly rolling plan with you.
Both parents and tutors will still be subject to the same cancellation terms for existing tutoring contracts.
Why are we making the changes?
Why are we making the changes?
When we launched our new platform and model we told you that it was a trial period. We wouldn’t get things right the first time - so things could, and probably would, change.
And we were right, while we’ve learned a tonne and made some great improvements to the platform, our initial launch was less successful than we’d planned. We’re confident that the new platform is the right direction but we found that our new model wasn’t quite matching up with parent’s needs. As a result, we’re changing pricing, pay, and tutoring contracts to a system that we, and you, know works - much more like our old platform.
Outdated tech means that our old platform is becoming complicated and time-consuming to maintain, so by bringing features we know work to a new platform, we’re able to deliver better changes for you more quickly.

No, after we make the changes on the 26th of February, parents will only be able to purchase weekly rolling plans. The only exception is for any existing tutoring contracts that are already in progress. These existing tutoring contracts will auto-renew on the same terms until they are cancelled.

Customers will be able to buy as many extra lessons as they need outside of their normal lessons in their weekly plan. These lessons are non-refundable and can be rolled over for one extra billing period. Here’s an FAQ you can send to your customers if they’re not sure how to book extra lessons.
