📎 How to Send Files to Your Tutor

Sharing files with your tutor is easy! It’s also a great way to share helpful information with your tutor so they can better support your learning. Once you've completed your first lesson, you can send a file directly to your tutor by logging into your MyTutor account and opening up the message thread you have with them.

Please be aware that you can only send files 7MB or smaller. If your file is bigger than this just get in touch with us directly, and we'll be happy to help.

Just follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Get Your File Ready

  • Keep it under 7MB

  • Use common formats like PDF, Word, PowerPoint (PDF works best!)

  • Sending multiple documents? You can combine them into one folder and compress it (called a zip file) before uploading.

🔒 Step 2: Check for Personal Info

Before uploading, make sure your file doesn't include:

  • Your child's full name

  • Your home address

  • Any other personal or sensitive information

This helps keep your child safe and secure online.

💬 Step 3: Upload Through Messages

  • Click the 📎 Paperclip icon next to the message box

  • Select your file

  • Hit Send – and you're done!

📧 Having Trouble?

If the file is too large or you're having trouble:

  • Email the document to our team at: support@mytutor.co.uk

  • Include your tutor’s name and the date of your next lesson

  • We'll help get it to your tutor!

💡 Top Tips

  • Use a clear file name (e.g. “Maths_Homework_Week3.pdf”)

  • Use a laptop or desktop computer to upload your file - not a mobile phone.

  • Make sure you’re on a stable internet connection during upload

  • If you haven't yet had a lesson with your tutor, please email the document to support@mytutor.co.uk, including the tutor's name, and the date and time of your first lesson, and we'll forward it on for you.
