What is MyTutor's cancellation policy?

When we cancel or reschedule a lesson, we need to give our tutors enough notice so that the changes don't negatively impact them - it's vital to maintaining tutor sentiment.

That's why we have a 24-hour cancellation policy here at MyTutor. If you know your pupil(s) can't attend a tutorial that starts within the next 24 working hours, you can mark the pupil's absence from the Lessons page of your Teacher Account.

Why does MyTutor have this policy?

Tutors put a lot of prep work into lessons, and set time aside especially to deliver them. That's why last-minute cancellations can have a real impact on them.

Our tutors also have their own cancellation policies they're required to follow to help us fully support your pupils. These are:

  • Giving us at least 24 hours notice if they can’t make a lesson

  • Writing a full cover report when requesting a cover tutor

How does your policy affect my lessons?

The cancellation policy applies to our office hours: 8 am to 6 pm - Monday to Friday.

Any cancellations or reschedules requested on Friday after 6 pm will not be completed over the weekend as our Schools department is closed. Our team will aim to respond to your request at the beginning of the week.

Please bear in mind that if you cancel within the 24 hours cancellation policy, you'll still be charged for the lesson.
