Payment issues for lessons on the Schools Programme

If you've noticed something doesn't look quite right after you've been paid for your school lessons, there are a few steps to follow before contacting us.

💸 Check your Income page

There are four payment statuses you should know:

  • Awaiting payment round

  • Pending payment

  • Processing payment

  • Paid

The amount you should receive in your account will match the amount which is 'Paid'.

📆 Check the timing

  • Ensure 5 working days have passed since the last payment processing date. This allows time for the payment to be processed and transferred.

💰 Have you updated your bank details?

If you've recently updated or added new bank details, make sure the following fields are correct in your MyTutor account:

  • Account number

  • Sort code

  • Account name (must match the name on your bank account)

  • Bank name (make sure it’s spelled correctly)

⚠️ Note: Only personal bank accounts can be used—business accounts are not allowed.

If you notice your bank details are incorrect, 📝 update them in your account. Once updated, get in touch with us, and we’ll be happy to fix the payment issue for you. 💬

🚨 Still having issues?

If everything looks correct but you're still facing a delay:

  1. Contact your bank to check for any pending transactions.

  2. If the issue is on their end, they should be able to assist further.

Here are some of the top questions our tutors ask about missing payments for their school lessons.

🧾 Why is my invoice missing payment for some of my lessons?

There are 2 payment rounds per month:

  1. The first payment round is processed at the beginning of the month.

  2. The second payment round occurs mid-month.

I had 2 back-to-back lessons with a pupil, why was I only paid for 1 lesson?

When you have back-to-back lessons, it's important to enter both lesson spaces in the system. If you only stayed in one lesson, the system may not register both lessons.

If this happens, reach out to our team to review the details, and they will help process the payment if both lessons were completed.

📊 What is the breakdown for the payment I received?

To see a breakdown of your payment, simply:

  1. Go to your payslip.

  2. Click ‘view’ next to the payment for that period to see all the details.

The payslip will be available once the payment round has been processed.

I have already contacted and done all the above steps now what?
