How do I update the subjects I tutor?
Need to tweak the subjects or levels you offer for private lessons? No worries—this guide will help you keep your profile up to date.
It’s super important to regularly check your subject preferences so we can match you with the right students and parents on MyTutor. If there’s a subject or level you don’t want to teach anymore (even if you're qualified for it), just remove it from your profile. That way, you won’t get requests for things you're no longer keen to tutor.
Example: Let’s say you only want to work with A-level students for now, just take GCSE off your profile, and you’ll stop getting matched with GCSE requests.
Remember, parents and students put a lot of effort into finding the right tutor. Keeping your profile current helps make sure they’re connecting with someone who’s a perfect fit - you! 😄
How to update your subject and level preferences
Want to change what you teach? Easy!
Head to your homepage, then hover over your name and picture in the top-right corner.
Click on ‘Personal details’ from the dropdown.
Scroll down until you find the ‘Tutoring details’ section. Here, you’ll see all the subjects and levels you’re set up to tutor. Just untick any boxes for the ones you’re not currently offering.
Once you’re done, scroll to the bottom and hit ‘Submit for approval’. Your profile will update instantly, so parents and students won’t see you for those options anymore.
Changed your mind later on? No problem, just tick the box again and click ‘Submit for approval’. Our team will review and approve the change in a few days, and you’ll be back on the list for that subject or level.
