What is the MyTutor guarantee?

We’re pretty proud of the 400,000 (and counting) 5* reviews our tutors have received from happy parents, carers and students and we hope you’ll be next!

Before a tutor can join MyTutor we interview each of them to check for expert subject knowledge and confident teaching ability, and only 1 in 8 applicants are successful. Once tutors are approved, they'll then complete a range of online training courses such as safeguarding and lesson planning.

We’re confident that all our tutors can do a great job but we understand how important that match between the pupil and the tutor is, and that’s something which you will know better than anyone else. If after the first lesson with a tutor, you decide you don’t want to continue working with them, we will refund the price of the first lesson to your MyTutor account for you to use with another tutor of your choice.

To claim the first lesson guarantee, you can Contact Us. Make sure you include the following details:

  • The date & time of your lesson

  • The tutor the lesson was with

  • How the lesson did not meet your expectations? (or what went wrong in the lesson.)

Our support team will get back to you within 48 hours to let you know the lesson credits have been refunded to your account to pay for another tutorial.
