MyTutor's First Lesson Guarantee

Before a tutor can join MyTutor, they must go through a rigorous interview process to ensure they have expert subject knowledge and confident teaching abilities. Only 1 in 8 applicants are successful in becoming a MyTutor tutor. Once approved, tutors are required to complete a series of online training courses, including safeguarding and lesson planning.

While we have full confidence in our tutors' abilities, we understand the importance of finding the right match between a student and their tutor. If, after your first lesson with a tutor, you feel that they are not the right fit for you, we offer a first-lesson guarantee. This means that we will refund the cost of your first lesson to your MyTutor account, which you can then use to book a lesson with a different tutor of your choice.

How do I claim my first lesson guarantee?

To claim the first lesson guarantee simply contact us, live chat is the best way to reach us, and provide the following details:

  • The date & time of your lesson

  • The tutor the lesson was with

  • How the lesson did not meet your expectations? (or what went wrong in the lesson.)

Our support team will respond within 48 hours and refund the lesson credit to your account. You can then use this credit to book a lesson with a different tutor.
