How do I get paid?

You're paid directly into your bank account twice a month. We process payments in batches, so all of your completed bookings will be paid at the next payment round.

🤑 We aim to process payments:

Around the 16th - 18th of the month for lessons completed between the 1st and 15th.
Around the 2nd - 4th of the following month for lessons completed between the 16th and end of the month.

Then it’s over to your bank, where payment can take 3-5 working days (so not counting the weekend!) to reach your account.

If the payment round falls around a weekend or Bank Holiday, money might take a little longer to reach your bank as our processing date may fall later than usual.

If you’re not sure, you can check the countdown for the next payment date on your Income page, where you can also see your processed payments.

How do earnings work for school lessons and private lessons?

There are differences in what you’re paid, and how you’re paid, between school lessons and private lessons.

When you log in to your MyTutor account, the Income page will show you a full breakdown of all of your payments. It even has a handy countdown to show you when the next payment round is.

Private lessons	School lessons
You set your own rates based on our 5 different price bands.	Earnings are based on the level of your pupil.
You receive an invoice showing each lesson you delivered.	You receive a payslip that displays the number of lessons delivered over a 2-week period.
Refund lessons yourself within 48 hours.	Just get in touch if you need to discuss refunding a school lesson.
You’re self-employed, and not entitled to holiday pay.	You’re entitled to holiday pay, which is included as a part of your hourly rate (calculated pro rata based on your UK annual statutory holiday entitlement).

How can I download a payslip?

If you want to download a payslip, it is pretty easy to do!

Click your profile picture in the top right-hand side of your account.
Click on ‘Income’
Scroll down to the section ‘Your Payment Data’, filter the time period you want these invoices for, and click ‘Download’.
