On the private side, you’ll need a parent to pick you as their tutor (so make sure your profile is looking strong).
There are a few ways that you can find private lessons:
Direct messages from parents
Keep an eye on your messages, all you’ll need to do is reply. Tutors who respond to messages within 6 hours are 20% more likely to book lessons 🫰
Tutor Requests from our Tutor Matching Team
These are messages from parents that our Tutor Matching Team sends to a bunch of tutors at once, to help parents find what they’re looking for quickly. You’ll find these requests, in the Requests tab
All you need to do is respond and start up a conversation. Personalising your response will make you stand out from the crowd.
Free Meeting requests from our Tutor Matching Team
Our team sends these and you can accept or decline. Just remember that the meeting time has been pre-agreed so can’t be rescheduled.
Free Meetings are free 15-minute video chats. They give you and parents/students the chance to get to know each other before committing to a lesson. You might use this time to tell them more about yourself, and check that you’re the right tutor for them - just remember that the meeting times out after 15 minutes!
To book a Free Meeting:
Go into your Messages with a specific parent
Click ‘Suggest a booking’ and select ‘Free Meeting’ from the drop-down menu
Then if you want to work with each other, you can book your first lesson. You can read more about how to book a private lesson here.
