What is the Schools Programme?

I'm a Tutor article! All of our tutors start off on the Schools Programme, but what exactly is it?

Updated over a week ago

Right now, all new tutors start off tutoring on the Schools Programme, where pupils are provided tutoring via their schools.

Here are some key facts about the Schools programme:

  • It includes KS3, GCSE and A-level pupils.

  • The lessons are scheduled by teachers and show up as ‘slots’. You can choose which slots you want to take on in the Schools Opportunities tab.

  • Schools mainly ask for lessons in Maths, English and Science. That’s why we ask our tutors to be able to tutor at least one of these core subjects.

  • You’ll tutor either just 1 pupil (1-1 lessons) or 3 pupils (3-1 lessons).

  • You’ll have important information, like current grades and exam boards, to supercharge your lesson planning.

  • MyTutor provides training and resources to give you everything you need to be ready for your first lessons.

  • Due to everyday changes at schools like timetable changes and pupil behaviour, it could mean that lessons need to be cancelled by Teachers, which they can do up to 24 working hours before it starts.

  • You can earn a ‘Trusted by Schools’ badge!
