How do I watch a lesson recording?

A quick step-by-step for accessing a lesson recording from a completed tutorial.

Updated over a week ago

Lesson recordings help us to uphold the highest standard of safeguarding on our site - they also make it more convenient for you to follow a pupil’s progress!

Watching a lesson recording lets you see how your pupil actually gets on in their lesson, but you can only watch recordings from lessons your pupil attended in full.

To access these lesson recordings, follow these simple steps:

  • Go to the MyTutor School portal login

  • Using the pupils’ username and password, sign in as the pupil

  • Click Previous to view completed sessions

  • Click the Watch Recording button on the lesson you want to view

For 3-1 group lessons, make sure you’re using the account of a pupil who was present to the lesson.

And finally, a few key points worth knowing about lesson recordings:

  • Allow 24 hours for the recording to upload.

  • Recordings are viewable for 90 days after the session takes place.

  • Playback quality might be disrupted by:

    • poor internet connection

    • multiple attempts made a pupil trying to access the lesson space

  • Recordings are limited to 1 hour 40 minutes. For lessons booked back to back, pupil’s need to leave the first lesson and re-join the new space to secure a full recording.

Please note - we can’t guarantee lesson recordings but to help us improve our safeguarding provisions and the quality of your revision materials, please keep your tech up to date.
