I'm a tutor article! Our top tips to write a blurb for your private profile that’ll help you stand out amongst the crowd

What is a tutor blurb?

As a private tutor, your blurb is your chance to grab parents’ attention. So it’s worth spending some time to craft a compelling one.

Parents and students often tell us that they specifically look at tutors’ blurbs to get a feel of what kind of tutor you are, and if you’re the right one for them.

We recommend that blurbs are short, punchy and persuasive. And because our listing page may show that you offer more than one subject, we suggest that your blurb be focused on you, rather than specifically mentioning the subject(s) you offer.

You might want to highlight your approach to studying, your teaching style or some of your strengths that you bring to lessons.

You can see an example of blurbs in the picture for inspiration. This is exactly how they look to parents and students browsing MyTutor.

If you’re still stuck on what to write, remember that you can always ask other private tutors in our community for advice.
