Payment issues for lessons on the Schools Programme

I'm a Tutor article! Find out how to troubleshoot issues in your school lesson payment rounds.

Updated over a week ago

If you've noticed something doesn't look quite right after you've been paid for your school lessons, there are a few steps to follow before contacting us.

๐Ÿ’ธ Check your income page to see the payment status

There will be 4 different statuses':

  1. Awaiting payment round

  2. Pending payment

  3. Processing payment

  4. Paid

The amount you should receive in your account will match the amount which is 'Paid'.

๐Ÿ“† Check that at least 5 working days have passed from the last payment day.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Have you changed bank details recently or added bank details to your account?
โ€‹
Check that the following fields are entered correctly on your account:

  • Account number

  • Sort code

  • Name (the name registered for your bank account must match the one we have on record)

  • Bank name (check it matches the bank listed name and that it is spelt correctly)

NOTE - Business bank accounts cannot be used as your registered bank account, it has to be a personal bank account!

If you notice your bank details are incorrect, change them, then get in touch with us and we'll be happy to fix your payment issue!

If all your details are correct, and 5 days have passed, the next step would be to contact your bank to see if there are any pending transactions.

If the delay has been on their end, they will be able to look into this for you and advise. Remember, payments can take up to 5 working days to reach your account from the date we process them.

Here are some of the top questions our tutors ask about missing payments for their school lessons.

Why is my invoice missing payment for some of my lessons?

Did you know we have 2 payment rounds in a month? We process the first payment round at the beginning of the month and the second is mid-month. Check out this article for more information on how these payment rounds are processed, so you can check which payment round your lesson should be included in.

I had 2 back-to-back lessons with a pupil, why was I only paid for 1 lesson?

When you carry out back-to-back lessons, you would need to make sure you enter both lesson spaces so the system registers that both lessons were attended for you to be paid.

If you have forgotten to do this and stayed within the one lesson space for the duration of both lessons, you'll need to get in touch with our team. They will check all details with you and process the payment if they can confirm both lessons took place for their full duration.

I have already contacted and done all the above steps now what?

If you have already checked all your details are correct and contacted your bank who have advised there are no pending payments, then please get in touch and we can look into the issue.
