Why is my DBS expiring a problem?
You might’ve already heard about this, but we’ve made some updates to our safeguarding policy to keep in line with new rules set out by the Department for Education. This means that we now need a DBS check every 36 months from our tutors on the schools programme.
You’ll stop seeing new school opportunities once your DBS check is within 30 days of expiry. Once you have a new DBS, you’ll be able to see the opportunities again.
For new tutors being onboarded:
If you are uploading a current DBS check, your check must be less than 12 weeks old, so you're not asked to apply for a new check just after joining us.
How much does it cost?
The DBS check will cost £38. We will cover the cost upfront and will be recovered in installments of £3.80 from the next ten lessons you do.
Will I still be able to pick up work?
Up until 30 days before your expiry date you should be able to pick up new work.
*If you are new to MyTutor your DBS application will be with our partner Verifile. You can see the process for this over here
