What documents do I need to apply?

If you’re a UK or Irish citizen, you’ll need a passport and provisional or driving licence.

If you’re not a UK or Irish citizen, you’ll need a share code, and a provisional or driving licence, or other form of approved photo ID.

You’ll also need a proof of address. Each document has some specific criteria to be approved, so read on for more on each.

📷 First proof of identity - passport

Your passport must

  • Be valid and current from any country

  • Not expire in the next 3 months

  • Clearly show the entire identity page

  • Not have any glare/reflections

🛂 Second proof of identity

This document must

  • Be a UK-issued document (except a driving licence, which can be issued by any country)

  • Not expire within the next month

  • Clearly show the entire document

  • Not have any glare or reflections

  • Be a driving licence, biometric residence permit, birth certificate, adoption certificate, marriage or civil partnership certificate
