All unassigned School Programme tutorials are available for you to view and accept directly on your ‘School opportunities’ page
What are recurring vs one off sessions?
Recurring sessions are with the same student at the same time, every week for a fixed number of weeks. Any slots that are available will be listed under the days of the week. To help you schedule, only tutorials that don’t clash with any tutorials you already have booked on MyTutor will be listed.
Recurring sessions can run for 6-10 weeks, although they can be for longer than this. We're sure you'd appreciate that we value the relationship between our pupils and our tutors - we really want to keep both of you together! So we kindly ask that you check you’re able to commit for all weeks listed within a recurring slot before you accept.
As ever, if you have an extenuating circumstance preventing you from attending a tutorial, then please contact firstname.lastname@example.org, providing at least one-week notice and we will try our best to accommodate. Alternatively, check out ‘How to reschedule my School Programme tutorial’
One-off sessions are often cover slots (sessions that require a temporary tutor), they will only appear on your opportunities page if they don’t clash with any of your current tutorials. Once again, please don’t accept these if they don’t fit with your other commitments.
How do I accept available slots?
If you have checked that you are available to complete the slots, and that they don’t conflict with prior commitments, then you can ‘Accept’ these slots and they will be assigned to your profile.
To accept recurring slots you’ll need to click ‘View’ and then ‘Accept all times’. You will then see a confirmation screen. These slots will now be available to view in your ‘Bookings’ tab. You will also receive an email confirmation.
To accept one-off session slots simply click ‘Accept’ on any of the tutorials listed on the ‘One off sessions’ tab on the ‘Schools Opportunities’ page. It will then prompt a confirmation and then these tutorials will appear on your ‘Bookings’ tab. You will also receive an email confirmation.
Please note that if you cancel your first or second session with a pupil, we will have to cancel all your lessons with that pupil. You can find information on how to get cover, and more details on how cancelling a session will impact you, in this article: I can't make my Schools Programme lesson, can I get cover?
