All unassigned Schools Programme lessons are available for you to view and accept directly from your School Opportunities page:
Recurring slots are the bread and butter of the Schools Programme! These are groups of lessons with a single student at the same time every week (or alternating days if the pupil has a two-week school timetable) for a fixed number of weeks.
Recurring slots typically run for 6-10 weeks, although they can run for longer. Pupils learn best when they have the same tutor each week, so we ask that you check you’re able to commit to all the lessons listed in a recurring slot before accepting it!
We do understand that every now and again things come up at the last minute. For this reason, once you've completed your first two lessons with a pupil, you can cancel a lesson as a one-off and we’ll find a cover tutor to take this lesson.
This brings us to cover slots! When a tutor has to miss a lesson, this will be released to any suitable tutors as a cover slot. Cover slots will also be listed on your Schools Opportunities page. If you pick up one of these lessons, the pupil’s regular tutor should have left you a cover report to guide your lesson.
If you’ve checked that you’re available to complete the lessons in a recurring slot, or a one-off cover slot, then you can ‘Accept’ these slots and the lessons will then show on your Bookings page. You will also receive an email confirmation.
