'What is the Schools Programme?'
The Schools Programme at MyTutor offers one to one tutoring for school pupils, these sessions are generally scheduled into their school day and are the same time every week!
The pupils on our programme are typically studying for their GCSEs, and many of the sessions are funded by the ‘Pupil Premium’ budget. This is a government grant for disadvantaged students, therefore a lot of the pupils on our programme wouldn’t be able to access one to one tutoring without your hard work.
The School Programme is a great way for you to build your profile as a tutor! We currently operate a slot functionality, this allows you to view and accept tutorials that suit your availability. You are in complete control of how many tutorials you take on. Once you start tutoring on our Schools Programme, you’ll gain a badge on your profile whilst adding to your ‘completed tutorials’ stats.
Students and teachers alike have been impressed with the impact of MyTutor on students’ confidence, academic attainment, and enjoyment of their education.
“One-to-one tuition gives students the change to develop confidence and ask questions that they wouldn’t feel comfortable or safe enough to ask in a classroom setting.” – Claire Thorpe, Pupil Premium Coordinator at Langley School
“Tutoring makes me feel confident – if I go wrong I don’t give up like I used to, I just try again.” – Jade, pupil at Oakfield school
“I find it easier to use the online space because it’s one-to-one and I can get a lot of help which I wouldn’t get in a classroom of 30 kids. One-to-one tuition is better for me because the tutor can address my individual needs.” – Jack, pupil at Djanogly school
'How many tutorials can I expect to tutor on the Schools Programme?'
- The School Programme gives you the flexibility to do as many tutorials as you’d like – subject to availability. We currently operate a slot function, which allows you to view and accept tutorials that suit your commitments.
- As you’re probably aware, the Schools Programme tutorials are generally scheduled into the pupil’s school day and therefore the availability of tutorials will vary significantly between term time and holiday periods.
- During term times, many of our tutors carry out between 3 to 4 school sessions per week. If you have reached your limit and would like to take on more tutorials, email email@example.com and the Schools Team will increase your allowance.
