Bookings and refunds can all be handled from your Bookings page.
If a parent wants to cancel
If a parent gives you more than 24 hours notice, you simply cancel the lesson and they'll automatically be refunded (if it's already been paid for).
If a parent cancels a lesson within 24 hours, it's up to you whether or not to refund the session. We find that refunding a session the first time it happens is a nice gesture, but it's at your discretion. Some tutors have their own refund policies that they share with parents early on so expectations are clear from the start.
If a parent cancels a lesson within 24 hours but you’ve both agreed to it, just wait for the tutorial time to be over, when you can refund the lesson from your previous bookings.
If you'd like to cancel a lesson
If you miss a lesson or have to cancel it within 24 hours of the start time, you must refunded it to the parent - we recommend doing so as soon after the the lesson was due to happen as possible.
You can refund lessons from the last 48 hours by heading to your previous bookings and clicking 'edit' and 'refund' next to the tutorial you’d like to refund. If the lesson was over 48 hours ago, please fill out this form and we’d be happy to help process your refund.
What my student and I are having technical difficulties?
If you encounter tech issues during a lesson, our advice is to check our Tech FAQs for a solution - if that doesn't solve it, get in touch with us on live chat, over the phone, or by email. It's always useful for us if you have timestamped screenshots of whatever issue you've encountered.
If the lesson can't go ahead as a result, it's at your discretion whether or not you want to refund the tutorial.
