We take the hassle out of payments by handling them for you through our online payment system. Customers pay for bookings 24 hours before they take place and this payment is collected by MyTutor on behalf of tutors. You’re then paid directly into your bank account twice a month.
All of your completed bookings in a pay round will then be paid in the next payment round. We process payments a couple of days after the end of the period they were completed in just in case you need to refund any sessions.
Payments are processed:
- On the 18th of the month for lessons completed between the 1st and 15th.
- On the 3rd of the following month for lessons completed between the 16th and end of the month.
If the payment date falls on a weekend or bank holiday then it will move to the next working day.
For example, if you completed a lesson on the 30th of May, we process the payment for that lesson on the 3rd of June.
When should I receive the money?
BACs payments can take 3-5 working days to reach your account after we've paid them. This means the money will arrive in most tutors bank accounts on the 21st of the month and the 6th of the month (in a normal month).
How do I know a lesson is in a payment round?
You can tell we've started a payment run when you receive an invoice for the tutorial! You can find this in your invoices page after we've processed the payment (so don't worry if a lesson doesn't go there straight away as long as it's in your 'completed' bookings).
I've been in touch about a referral payment but it isn't in my invoices...?
If you've been in touch and we need to pay you for anything other than a lesson (for example, for a referral payment), then this will be paid at the same time but won't show up in your invoices.
When can I refund?
If you need to refund any tutorials, please make sure you do this before the payment round. You can refund parents in your previous bookings page by clicking edit on the tutorial you’d like to refund for up to 48 hours after the tutorial took place. If the tutorial was over 48 hours ago, please reach out to us on livechat and we’ll refund this lesson for you.
I haven't been paid and it's been 5 working days since the payment round!
If you've completed lessons within the last two weeks and it's been 5 working days since the last payment date, and you still haven’t received payment, please fill in our form.
