Leave a lesson report or tutor's notes:
When making a booking, the parent or student is given the option to request a lesson report. If the parent does request a lesson report, then you will be prompted to fill one out after your session. The lesson report structure looks like this:
As you can see, the most helpful things to record in your feedback are:
- What you covered in the lesson
- Areas for improvement
- Areas that your student is confident with
- What you will work on next time
- Any general comments about progress
The lesson report will then be sent straight to the parent or student via their messages.
If you don't have time to fill out your lesson report immediately after a session, you can go back and fill it in later using these buttons which you will find under the Previous tab on your Bookings page:
If a parent or student hasn't requested a lesson report, you can choose to leave tutor's notes instead by clicking the 'Leave notes' button. This can also be a useful way to keep track of what has been covered in each session you have with a student. Remember that the parent will be able to have a look at these too!
Request a review:
Once you start tutoring, it will be great if you can start to build up reviews and ratings on your profile. Your students will be asked to leave you a star rating after every lesson, and written feedback every few sessions. This is not compulsory, so if you’d like some feedback it may be worth prompting your student once you’ve completed a few sessions! If you would like to, you can request a review from a parent or student from your Messages page by pressing the little star icon in the bottom left hand corner.
Book in your next lesson:
If you don't already have a regular slot booked in with your student, you may wish to send them a message after you finish a session with suggested times for your next lesson as well as asking what they’d like to focus on next.
