This is the number of regular pupils you can work with at any one time.
There are two factors which impact how many pupils you’re able to work with.
We increase tutors' limits based on attendance and punctuality. If you're already working with your current maximum number of pupils, and you've attended your most recent lessons with all of them punctually, we'll increase your limit so that you can work with a further two pupils.
Similarly, if you've missed one or more lessons, launched one or more of them over fifteen minutes late, or cancelled a lesson within six hours of its start time we'll decrease your limit by two. Of course, we understand that things come up, so in exceptional circumstances we won't less this impact your limit.
If your limit does fall, don't worry, as you can quickly build this up again through strong performance in your upcoming lessons.
The reason we adjust your Recurring Lesson limit like this is because schools really value reliability (as pupils learn best this way), and we want to prioritise tutors who are regularly attending their lessons on time.
At busier times of year, when we’re working with lots of schools, we raise the default limit so tutors can pick up more work.
When it’s quieter (for example over the summer holidays), we reduce the default limit, so that we can spread work fairly across our tutor community.
