Easter Revision Courses are typically 6 lessons in either French, Spanish or Maths over the Easter holidays. We provide templates, but tutors can edit these as much as they like, including increasing or decreasing the number of lessons to suit the parent. Ideally, the course would include a mock exam (for languages in a lesson and for Maths completed in the student's own time) to show progress.
How do we book them in?
You can book the course like you'd book normal lessons. You can suggest the times to the parent, and they can select as many of those times as they like. It would be best to agree on and book in all the lessons in advance so you can both schedule them in, and you can plan for them.
A parent asks you: How do I pay?
Revision courses are paid in the same way as normal Online Lessons on MyTutor. The parent needs to log in, click on 'Top up wallet' and add follow the instructions to make a payment.
Is there a time limit?
There's no time limit on revision courses. We recommend a 1-2 week time frame to keep the content fresh, and fit in lessons over the Easter holiday. If you and your student would like to extend the course over a longer time frame there's no problem, just space each lesson booking further apart.
What if we don't use them all?
If you and your student don't finish your revision course, you can swap the bookings into usual MyTutor Online Lessons, or you can cancel and refund the parent if that's what they'd prefer.
What if they ask for a discount?
As we are trialing revision packs, we aren't currently offering discounts. Some tutors have suggested lowering their price band for the block of bookings, but there is no pressure to do this. The extra value to the parent is that they have a pack of lessons that are structured with a mock exam, and that they have an excellent tutor guaranteed for a full revision course!
How does the mock exam work?
For languages, you can run the mock exam during one of the sessions, extending the general conversation section, or giving them feedback in the same lesson. For Maths, they can do the mock in their own time, and you can go through it together in the final session.
