'Profile views' are the number of unique users who have recently viewed your profile, and there are a number of factors affecting how many people view your profile.
Keep in mind that the subjects you offer can impact the number of profile views you get - if you teach popular subjects like Maths and Science, you’re likely to have more profile views than nicher subjects. Plus, tutoring is a seasonal business, so you’re likely to get fewer views in our quieter period over the Summer.
If you’re keen to get more profile views, we recommend:
- Boost: Boosting lets us know that you're looking for work, and helps us match you with parents and students more effectively. We'll ask you for your availability, and use this to match you with parents looking to meet a tutor soon whose availability matches yours.
Profile photo: A high quality photo will increase the chance of parents and students clicking on your profile. We recommend that you upload a well-lit, high quality photo that is taken of just yourself. A photo of you in a professional setting is a great idea - this doesn’t have to be a lecture theatre or classroom, but it’s best to avoid photos of you at the student bar, or with lots going on in the background. Here are some great examples:
- Profile video: Only around 10% of tutors have a profile video, so adding one is a great way to stand out from the crowd! A profile video gives parents and students a flavour of your personality and approach to lessons. Check out our profile video FAQ for some tips on how to make your video and what to include.
And if you’re not looking for work, you can always set your profile to ‘unavailable’, and we won’t show it to parents for the time being.
