Where are all the files I uploaded?
Occasionally, when you enter a lesson space that already has images and other files uploaded into it, you won't see them right away. This can occur when the tutor has prepared a lesson, or if you reload the lesson space.
This issue is caused by an overload on your computer's Random Access Memory (RAM), which is where the computer stores the information about what it's doing at that time. Think of it like your own working memory!
If this happens, the first thing to do is check your computer's processor (CPU) and RAM usage. To do this you can use the following steps.
Open Task Manager with the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + Shift + Esc".
Expand the Task Manager by clicking "More Details" at the bottom.
Click the "Performance" tab at the top.
If your Memory and CPU usage are very high (over 80% or so), this is likely the cause.
To solve this, close your internet browser completely, and close all other running applications. This will reduce the current CPU and Memory usage.
Reopen your browser and return to MyTutor and your lesson.
The files should be there!
Open the Activity Monitor via the Utilities folder in Applications.
On the CPU and Memory tabs, check the total usage at the bottom.
If the usage is very high (over 80% or so), this is likely causing the lesson space issues.
To solve this, close your internet browser completely, and all other running applications. This will reduce your CPU and Memory usage.
Reopen your internet browser and head back to MyTutor, then launch your lesson again.
Everything should be there!
If you have any further issues with this, restarting your computer can be a more comprehensive solution, just make sure you keep other applications closed when in the lesson space.
