Whilst making your first booking from your bookings page, you’ll be asked to enter the details of the card you’d like to use for payments. We’ll then charge your card 24 hours before your lesson starts to confirm your lesson with your tutor (we’ll refund you immediately if your tutor can’t deliver the lesson). If you’re booking a regular lesson (every week or fortnight), we’ll charge you 24 hours before each lesson starts from the same card you entered for your first tutorial. Payment security is a top priority for us, which is why all card payments are made through a secure third-party payment provider, Opayo. As payments are made safely and securely through the MyTutor site, there’s never the need to share your personal details with your tutor.
Can I cancel or reschedule lessons?
Of course! You can make changes to any lesson 24 hours before it starts, free of charge and straight from your bookings page. We ask that you give 24 hour notice so that your tutor can adjust their schedule and avoid planning for a tutorial that might not go ahead.

What happens if my tutor can’t make it on the day?
If your tutor can’t make it to a lesson you’ve paid for, they can refund you after the lesson was due to take place, please reach out to your tutor and they’d be happy to process this for you. If your lesson was supposed to take place more than 48 hours ago, please fill in this form and we'll look into your refund for you.
Can I change the card I pay with?
Yes, to change the card you’d like to pay with, please cancel your existing bookings and book them in again. When you’re rebooking, you’ll be asked if you’d like to use a new card, please click here and enter your new card details.
Can I switch tutors?
Absolutely. If you’d like to change tutors, just message your tutor and then cancel your bookings and rebook with the new tutor. Get in touch with us via our live chat or email email@example.com if you’d like help finding someone new.
Do you store my card details?
No, we don't (and can't legally) store your card details. Payments are handled by our payment provider Opayo, the most secure and well-respected payment services in the UK who store and repeat a payment made for any future bookings within 24 hours. By cancelling your tutorials, this will stop any payments being taken.
Can I delete my card details?
We’re currently unable to delete card details without deleting your whole MyTutor account. By deleting your MyTutor account we’ll also remove your data from our third party payment system. Your personal data will be anonymised from our third party payment system so it no longer identifies you.
