You're working on the Schools Programme
At the moment we only recruit tutors to the schools programme, because this is where we have most demand. We’re always carefully monitoring demand on the private side of MyTutor though, so if we notice lots of parents requesting a specific subject and level, we invite the school tutors qualified in those areas to move over (starting with those who signed-up earliest).
Lessons are either 1:1 or 3:1, and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis - so grab the slots you want quickly! Find out more about booking lessons here, and about payment here.
Your lessons are recorded
All MyTutor sessions are recorded for safeguarding purposes, as well as to give pupils a useful resource for revision which they can go back to. The recording starts when either of you arrive, so be mindful of this if you arrive before your student!
Lesson recordings are available to watch for 90 days after the lesson takes place.
However, they are kept on our system for a total of 125 days.
All school tutors are part of our feedback programme
School lessons are observed at random by some of our longest-serving school tutors. The feedback on these lessons aims to support you in your personal development, give you insights on how you’re doing, and offer the chance to make an even greater impact on your students than you already are.
You can check out this article to find out more about the skills and values lesson observers are looking for, and this FAQ for more info on the feedback programme.
There's support if you need it
We have training and resources available on MyTutor Academy for whenever you want to brush up on your tutoring skills - like managing tricky students, adapting lesson content to students at different levels, and supporting students with additional needs.
You can also chat to your fellow tutors on the MyTutor Facebook Forum, or learn about and make suggestions to your Tutor Reps on their dedicated site.
And of course, we're always here too. Whether you have some feedback for us or want some advice, you can reach us at tutors@mytutor.co.uk or 0203 773 6024.
