My pupil’s tutor isn’t in the lesson space

If your pupil has no tutor, we’ll get a cover tutor for their lesson ASAP

Updated over a week ago

We always stress the importance of reliability to our tutors, but urgent things can come up at the last minute and a tutor might not make it to their lesson.

That’s why we have an automatic cover system in place for KS3 and GCSE pupils, to make sure they always have a tutor!

If you spot a KS3 or GCSE pupil who doesn’t have a tutor:

  • Please ask your pupil to wait in the lesson space.

  • After five minutes, a message will pop up asking them to keep waiting a bit as we find them a cover tutor.

  • In the background, our system will be working to find a new tutor for this one-off lesson.

  • The new tutor will be able to view your pupil’s profile, so they can jump straight into the lesson!

At the end of the lesson, the cover tutor will leave a lesson report. So, their original tutor will be able to pick up where the last lesson left off.

Because of the more challenging nature of A-levels, A-level pupils won't have cover tutors. Find more info on how to make changes to A-level lessons in this article!

Or, you might think that you can’t see the tutor due to technical issues - find more information on our Tech Help pages.
