Find out how to make changes within your account once it is live, including adjusting your availability, editing your profile and changing your tutoring fee.

How do I change my availability?

Part of our mission at MyTutor is to become the best job on campus. And that means bringing you work opportunities that fit into your timetable. So, we give you complete control over the hours you work and tools to let others know what times work for you.

Whilst you have full control of your schedule, a member of our team might reach out to provide top tips and suggesstions about how to get more students, best practices, and new information that may change the way you work with customers. This is to ensure that you remain informed and up-to-date and can best inform your customers as well.

When you apply for opportunities, potential customers will check the availability shown on your profile. So if you’re looking for more work, it’s vital that you keep it up-to-date.

Top tip: Set a weekly reminder on your phone so you don’t forget!

How to update your availability:

  1. Log in to your New platform account

  2. Click on “Availability” on the left-hand side

  3. Tick the hour slots you’re generally available for Study Plan Consultations and lessons. And if you can’t make certain days or times, leave them blank

You'll be able to apply to opportunities or they may be sent to you, and you'll be able to accept or decline these bookings. Additionally, you might see opportunities for times that you’ve listed you’re not available for. If so, just decline the opportunity. We’ll show it to you in case you want to flex your schedule to accommodate the customer.

We'll be keeping track of your bookings on the Classic platform, but booking clashes between the two platforms can still occur. If this happens, we'll email you so you're informed and can make the relevant adjustments. It's important that you stay on top of your schedules too.

How do I edit my profile?

Your profile gives customers a first impression of you, and they check every detail. So if you’re looking for more work, we recommend that you keep it up-to-date.

To edit your profile:

  1. Log in to your New platform account

  2. Hover over your avatar in the top-left corner

  3. Click on “Profile”

How do I change my tutoring fee?

As you’re self-employed for private lessons, you decide your tutoring fee. You can choose from 5 bands, same as on your Classic platform account. You can read more about the options, and how to pick one, here.

To change how much you charge:

  1. Log in to your New platform account

  2. Hover over your avatar in the top-left corner

  3. Click on “Income and Pricing”

Please note, any changes will only apply to future bookings with new customers you take on.
