How do I manage my workload and availability?

Part of our mission at MyTutor is to become the best job on campus. And that means bringing you work opportunities that fit into your timetable.

So, we give you complete control over the hours you work and tools to let others know what times work for you.

Your availability is one of the most important factors in matching you with the right student or pupil.

If you can’t make certain days or times, let us know to avoid having to cancel.

How to tell us when you’re available:

  • Click the drop-down menu under your profile image to show if you’re unavailable.

    • You can even specify if you’re looking for private or Schools Programme work, if you do both.

    • You can also Boost your profile here! It lets us know that you’re not just available - you’re actively looking for work!

This is the easiest way to update your availability if your overall availability changes, or if you have reached a capacity of tutoring sessions and don’t want to take on any more at the time.

You can also use the unavailable checkbox in your personal details area.

On your personal details page in your account, you can set yourself as unavailable for new students or for regular students. This updates your overall availability like the dropdown on your homepage does. Here you can also specify if you’re unavailable for regular students, but still available for only the odd session, which can help the sales team match you with parents and students looking for those kinds of lessons.

Manage your weekly timetable

On your profile details, there’s a day-by-day breakdown of your availability. You can update this at any time. If your uni timetable changes each term, you can block out the times you can’t tutor when you get your new timetable.

  • Click on My Profile from the drop-down menu at the top-right of your account.

  • Scroll down to the bottom and edit the weekly timetable to show when you’re available.

  • Click Save and Continue.
