My pupil can’t make their lesson
My pupil can’t make their lesson

Sometimes things crop up and plans need change. Find out how to mark an absence and let the tutor know.

Updated over a week ago

When you know in advance your KS3 or GCSE level pupil can’t attend their lesson, you have two options:

If there's more than 24 working hours before the lesson starts, drop us an email at schools@mytutor.co.uk and we can move this for you.

If there's less than 24 hours before the lesson starts, we won’t be able to move the lesson but (using the steps below!) you can mark your pupil as absent:

  • Go to your Teacher Account

  • Click Lessons, then the Upcoming tab

  • Use the search bar to find the pupil

  • Check the box under the mark pupil absent column:

    • For 1-1 lessons, click Mark pupil absent to complete.

    • For 3-1 lessons, click Mark specific pupils absent and choose which pupils from the group to mark absent.

If a lesson has already passed, just get in touch with our Schools team and we'll help you mark that absence!

Pupils studying A-Level subjects will have messaging enabled and can message their tutor to make changes to their Schools lesson - encourage them to reschedule a lesson they can’t make.

Please note - we don’t allow another pupil to take the place of an absent one. Allowing a pupil to use someone else’s login details is a safeguarding issue and can catch our tutors by surprise!
