How do Tutor payments work?
How your pay is calculated depends on whether you are tutoring on the Schools Programme or delivering Private Lessons.
You can view all payments and earnings in the Income tab of your MyTutor account.
When will I get paid?
We process payments twice a month based on when your lessons are completed:
Lessons completed from the 1st to the 15th → paid around the 16th–18th of the same month
Lessons completed from the 16th to the end of the month → paid around the 2nd–4th of the following month
Once your payment has been processed, it will appear in your Income tab.
When will the money reach my bank account?
After MyTutor processes your payment, it usually takes 3–5 working days to reach your bank account.
This does not include weekends or UK Bank Holidays
Processing times may vary depending on your bank
Some banks may show early notifications, but funds are still subject to standard processing times
If a payment date falls near a weekend or bank holiday, your payment may take slightly longer to arrive.
Where can I view my earnings?
You can view your earnings in the Income tab of your MyTutor account.
Here you can:
See a full breakdown of all payments
View your payment history
View a countdown to your next payment date
Only processed and paid lessons will appear. Lessons from the current payment round will only show once they’ve been paid.
Schools Programme vs Private Lessons
Your earnings and how you are paid depend on the type of tutoring you do: Schools Programme or Private Lessons.
Private lessons | School lessons |
You set your own rates | Earnings are based on the number of coins you have earned through completed recurring slots |
You receive an invoice showing each lesson you delivered | You receive a payslip that displays the number of lessons delivered over a 2-week period |
Refund lessons yourself within 7 days | Just get in touch if you need to discuss refunding a school lesson |
You’re self-employed and not entitled to holiday pay | You’re entitled to holiday pay, which is included as part of your hourly rate (calculated pro rata based on your UK annual statutory holiday entitlement) |
